Portal Rock is set in the sophisticated Cos Cob neighborhood, close to the Mianus River and in the vicinity of the prestigious River Road-Mead Avenue Historic District.

It is comprised of 25 townhouses built in 1930, 1972 and 1975, brick or frame colonial-style houses with beautiful landscaped gardens throughout the complex. The houses are surrounded by flowering shrubs and towering trees and all homes have private patios and balconies that  offer beautiful views of the gardens. Some homes even offer views of the Mianus River.

Most of the Portal Rock homes offer 2 levels of living space and a square footage generally from 1000+ to 1700+ square feet. There are various floor plans with  2 or 3 bedrooms, at least one and up to 3 full baths and 1 half bath.

There are generally open concept floor plans with spacious living rooms, some of them featuring a fireplace, and most kitchens boast fine finishes and high-end appliances.

Most homes also have a lower level recreation room or a loft and other additional spaces that can be used as home offices or guest rooms. Some homes feature a single level living space and there are also floor plans with walkout lower levels that offer a generous space with versatile rooms.

Portal Rock homes usually have a 1 car garage, plenty of guest parking spaces, and there are large driveways throughout the complex.

There are plenty of parks and recreational opportunities close to Portal Rock. About 20 minutes walking distance to Montgomery Pinetum  Park and Nature Center, a 30-acre park boasting an impressive conifer collection from around the world.

The Mianus River Park is a nearly 400-acre of natural beauty, on the border between Greenwich and Stamford, along the Mianus River. A part of the river flows through the park, and you can find here ponds, brooks, many hiking trails and a fishing pier. Some of the activities here include horseback riding, a great way to explore the reserve and admire the surprisingly beautiful flora and fauna.

Within a 15 minutes walking distance there are several gyms and sports centers, including a water club. Sports fields are also within walking distance. Laughlin Park is just 20 minutes walk away, and you can find here baseball diamonds, a soccer field, basketball and tennis courts and a playground. If you love golf there's  E. Gaynor Brennan Municipal Golf Course in nearby Stamford, only a 5 minutes drive away.

The Cos Cob Waterfront Park has picnic areas and scenic trails that offer beautiful harbor views. As you drive a few minutes on the River Road, through the historic district, you can stop to visit the famous Bush-Holley House, a National Historic Landmark. This is the house where  the first American impressionist painters gathered and formed the Cos Cob Art Colony in the 19th century. The magical beauty of this very place is captured in world-renowned paintings.

The beach is also very close. Just about a 10 minutes drive to Fords Beach or to one of the best beaches on Long Island Sound, the amazing Greenwich Point that boasts sandy beaches and a park, and it offers breathtaking views of Manhattan skyline and beautiful views of the ocean from 3 sides.

The complex is conveniently located for commuters. Just minutes to I-95 and with easy access to Hutchinson River Parkway, Portal Rock is only an hour away from Manhattan.

If you fancy living in the charming and prestigious Cos Cob area in Greenwich and own a beautiful and comfortable townhouse in a park-like setting, Portal Rock offers a great opportunity and plenty of conveniences.
